We have a wide range of mounting options; offering a huge selection of colours, from budget to museum quality materials. Every mount is cut individually to size so you receive the perfect fit for your picture.

A mount has two main functions:

  • Firstly, it acts as a spacer between your art work and the frame; it stops the frame overpowering the image, giving your artwork space, keeping the image the main focus.
  • Secondly, it keeps your artwork from touching the glass; this is especially important for photographs, originals, and limited edition prints. If against the glass a photograph or painting may stick to glass, causing damage to the paint/ paper surface.

Standard Range:

White Core: Our standard range of mount boards are all acid free/ PH 7-8.5 – these are perfect for mounting prints and non-valuable items. Perfect for framing on a budget! They are 1.4mm and are cut with 45 degree bevel, giving a smart and professional finish.

Our standard range of mounts come in a wide range of colours and are cut to bespoke sizes. Selected colours are also available in extra large (or ‘Jumbo’) sizes.
Extra Thick: Selected colours also available in ‘Extra thick’, giving a deeper 45 degree bevel adding an extra bit of detail to enhance your art work. Available in 2mm and 3.5mm.

Black Core: Selected colours (1.4mm) are also available with a ‘black core’ this means you will have a black (rather than having a white) 45° bevel line around your art work. These look lovely around black and white photographs and art work with darker tones.

Bright Core:

Bright Core mount boards are perfect for adding a splash of colour to your artwork without overpowering or drawing attention away from your art work. Available in either black or white, these mount boards cut giving you a 45°colour bevel. The bevel colour is available in red, orange, yellow, blue, green, and purple.

Bright core mount boards are a higher conservation level than our standard mount board range. They have a PH level of 8-8.5, and have a high bleed and fade resistance (Aging resistant complies with ISO 9706)

Museum Quality:

Framing items of value? For example original art and limited edition prints. If so we seriously recommend mounting to museum quality. Our range of ‘Rag Mat’ mount boards are produced to a museum quality and offer the best protection for your art work.

Rag Mat mount boards are made from 100% premium cotton and have a PH balance of 8.5-9.5. Having never had acid in them, they are the best option for protecting you art work from discolouring and ‘foxing’.

Rag Mat Mounts come in a beautiful range of colours and are 100% lignin and speck-free; they mount your art to the best quality, complimenting and enhancing the colour and style of your art work. They are a solid colour throughout therefore you don’t get a white bevel line.

Computerised Mount Cutter:

All our mounts are cut using a top of the range computerised mount cutter. This ensures we always cut to the highest precision, and to the best quality of cut. This also allows many more creative options for example: Multi- aperture mounts, shape cut outs, word lettering etc (see ‘Creative framing’ for more options).
