We have over 20 years of experience to call on and we will be pleased to talk with you on any aspect of our art or framing services.

Upstairs at Gallery Seventeen is a teaching studio where our art classes take place. We hold both daytime and evening classes in ceramics, drawing, and watercolour; the classes are perfect for both beginners and more experienced artists.

Gallery Seventeen is conveniently located around the corner from Beckenham Junction train station and tram stop, therefore is easily accessible from Victoria, Croydon and Bromley. We are also just across the road from a bus stop with regular buses to and from Bromley, Lewisham, Penge, Crystal Palace and Elmers End.

Start Dates: Ongoing- see availability below

Level: Mixed ability- Suitable for absolute beginners & the more experienced Ceramicist

Course Length: 8 Weeks

Tutor: Sue Clark trained at Camberwell College of Art and specialised in hand-built individually designed pieces, each with its own unique character.

Course Content:

Sue will begin by teaching you the basic ‘coil technique’ and ‘slab technique’; then with lots of one to one tuition from Sue you will be able to produce your own idea90s, vases, bowls, sculpture, wall plaques…and much more!

All work is made from slabs or coils, not thrown on a wheel. This means that anyone, whatever their skill level, can make interesting and beautiful work.

Once you are happy with your piece, it is then bisque fired by Sue. From there Sue will teach about different glazes; you will then glaze the work yourself, and then Sue will glaze-fire the work.

Cost: £190 (per 8- week course)

All materials and firing costs are included in the price- so no hidden costs.
